We cloned six different DNA fragments from a curromycin producing strain, Streptomyces hygroscopicus 358AV2, which confer curromycin-resistance on a curromycin non-producing and sensitive strain, S. hygroscopicus Rgll, a protoplast regenerant of the strain 358AV2.
