Tyrosyl-DNA phosphodiesterase 1 (Tdp1) is a key enzyme that hydrolyzes the phosphodiester bond between tyrosine of topoisomerase and 3'-phosphate of DNA and repairs topoisomerase-mediated DNA damage during chromosome metabolism.
