Major RNA products of a microRNA (miRNA) gene--the long primary transcript (pri-miRNA), the ∼70-nucleotide (nt) precursor miRNA (pre-miRNA), and the ∼21-nt mature miRNA--all contain the same sequence required for target gene recognition.
