PURPOSE: The testicular hormone Insl3 is critical for mouse gubernacular development. Knockout mice exhibit bilateral intra-abdominal cryptorchidism with absent gubernaculum. Prior studies described torsion of the vas deferens in Insl3 mutant mice.
