The pel1 mutation in Saccharomyces cerevisiae and the Cgpgs1Delta mutation in Candida glabrata result in deficiency of mitochondrial phosphatidylglycerolphosphate synthase and lack of two anionic phospholipids, phosphatidylglycerol and cardiolipin.
