Burkholderia pseudomallei, an infectious Gram-negative bacterium, is the causative pathogen of melioidosis. In the present study, a B. pseudomallei strain with mutation in the bsaQ gene, encoding a structural component of the type III secretion system (T3SS), was constructed.
