Recent evidence indicate that small non-coding RNA molecules, called micro-RNAs (miRNAs), can bind to the 3' untranslated regions (UTRs) of messenger RNAs and interfere with their translation, thereby regulating cell growth, differentiation, apoptosis and tumorigenesis.
