Transcription factors belonging to the NF-kappaB family regulate inflammation by inducing pro-inflammatory molecules (e.g. interleukin (IL)-8) in response to cytokines (e.g. tumor necrosis factor (TNF) alpha, IL-1) or other stimuli.
