Leukotriene overproduction is the major characteristic of aspirin-intolerant asthma (AIA). Most studies examining the molecular genetic mechanisms of AIA have focused on leukotriene-related genes, including ALOX5, LTC4S, TXA2R and prostanoid-receptor genes.
