BACKGROUND: Pharmacogenetic-guided dosing of warfarin is a promising application of "personalized medicine" but has not been adequately tested in randomized trials. METHODS AND RESULTS: Consenting patients (n=206) being initiated on warfarin were randomized to pharmacogenetic-guided or standard dosing.
