BACKGROUND AND AIM: Crohn's disease (CD) is a complex polygenetic inflammatory disease of the bowel. NFKBIA (IkappaBalpha) is a downstream regulator of NF-kappaB, which is an effector of the major Crohn's susceptibility gene CARD15/NOD2.
