PURPOSE: We analyzed the gamma-crystallin genes CRYGB, CRYGC, and CRYGS in the dog and tested single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) for linkage and association with primary noncongenital cataract (CAT) in the dachshund, a popular dog breed.
