In order to get deeper insights into oxidative degradation of the hydrophobic substrates (HS) triglycerides and alkanes by yeasts, tagged mutants affected in these pathways were generated by random insertion of a mutagenesis cassette MTC into the genome of Yarrowia lipolytica.
