The inhibition of DNA synthesis by sparfloxacin; accumulation of sparfloxacin into members of the family Enterobacteriaceae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and staphylococci; induction of recA in Escherichia coli; and the optimum bactericidal concentration (OBC) were measured, and killing kinetics at the OBC were estimated.
