BACKGROUND: MSR1, PTEN, and KLF6 have been implicated as candidate susceptibility genes for prostate tumorigenesis. METHODS: Three hundred Jewish prostate cancer patients were screened for alterations in these genes. RESULTS: MSR1 was conserved in all patients.
