The heterotrimeric CCAAT-binding complex is evolutionarily conserved in eukaryotic organisms, including fungi, plants and mammals. In the filamentous fungus Aspergillus nidulans, the corresponding complex was designated AnCF (A.nidulans CCAAT-binding factor). AnCF consists of the subunits HapB, HapC and HapE.
