Multiple myeloma (MM) is a plasma cell malignancy characterised by bone marrow infiltration and the presence of a monoclonal protein in serum and/or urine. Interleukin-6 (IL-6) has been identified as one of the most important cytokines that contributes to myeloma cell survival and proliferation.
