The Agrobacterium sp. beta-glucosidase (Abg) is a retaining beta-glycosidase and its nucleophile mutants, termed Abg glycosynthases, catalyze the formation of glycosidic bonds using alpha-glycosyl fluorides as donor sugars and various aryl glycosides as acceptor sugars.
