Oncostatin M (OSM) is a member of the IL-6 family of cytokines. Mice deficient in the OSM receptor (OSMR(-/-)) showed impaired liver regeneration with persistent parenchymal necrosis after carbon tetrachloride (CCl(4)) exposure.
