PROBLEM: Lipopolysaccharide (LPS) (endotoxin) is a well-known inducer of abortions in mice. In addition it has been proposed that gut-derived LPS of gram-negative bacteria may play a role in triggering idiopathic recurrent miscarriage (IRM) in humans.
