In order to assess spontaneous mutability and accuracy of DNA joining in ataxia telangiectasia, a disorder with spontaneous chromosome breakage, the replicating shuttle vector plasmid, pZ189, was transfected into SV40 virus-transformed fibroblasts from ataxia telangiectasia patients.
