OBJECTIVES: To evaluate the influence of variation in the genes for apolipoprotein E (APOE; epsilon2, epsilon3, epsilon4) and cholesterol-7alpha hydroxylase (CYP-7A1; -204A-->C) on plasma lipid level changes.
