The expression of tripartite multidrug efflux pumps such as MexA-MexB-OprM in Pseudomonas aeruginosa contributes to intrinsic resistance to a wide variety of antimicrobials, including beta-lactams, chloramphenicol, macrolides, quinolones, and tetracycline.
