OBJECTIVE: To express the variable region of AMA-1 gene from Plasmodium falciparum in Escherichia coli. METHODS: Genomic DNA of FCC1/HN was used as template and the variable region of AMA-1 gene was amplified by polymerase chain reaction(PCR).
