OBJECTIVE: Arthritis is a common manifestation in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), appearing in approximately 85% of patients. Often, the polyarthritis at presentation of SLE cannot be distinguished from rheumatoid arthritis (RA) by physical examination or history.
