Dihydrofolate reductase-thymidylate synthase (DHFR-TS) and trypanothione reductase (TR) are important enzymes for the metabolism of protozoan parasites from the family Trypanosomatidae (e.g. Trypanosoma spp., Leishmania spp.) that are targets of current drug-design studies.
