INTRODUCTION: The polymorphic cytochrome P450 enzyme 2C9 (CYP2C9) catalyses the metabolism of many drugs including S-warfarin, acenocoumarol, phenytoin, tolbutamide, losartan and most of the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.
