Dupuytren's contracture is a fibrotic lesion of the palmar fascia that includes two distinct structures, the nodule and the cord. Histologically the Dupuytren's nodule has a high cell density with numerous myofibroblasts (alpha smooth muscle actin-expressing fibroblasts).
