NSF is an ATPase required for the fusion of secretory vesicles with plasma membrane. Conditional comatose (Drosophila homolog of N-ethylmaleimide sensitive fusion factor (NSF)) mutations in Drosophila block synaptic transmission at restrictive temperature.
