Mice carrying one inactivated Fhit allele (Fhit +/- mice) are highly susceptible to tumor induction by N-nitrosomethylbenzylamine, with 100% of Fhit +/- mice exhibiting tumors of the forestomach/squamocolumnar junction vs. 25% of Fhit +/+ controls.
