The Syndrome of Apparent Mineralocorticoid Excess (SAME) is a hypertensive disorder caused by deficiency of 11b-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 2. Blood pressure is directly influenced by dietary salt intake, but the causes of salt-sensitivity are not fully resolved.
