Dengue virus (DENV) is a rapidly emerging pathogen causing an estimated 100 million symptomatic infections annually. The clinical spectrum of dengue disease is broad ranging from asymptomatic to death. Factors contributing to differential outcome of DENV disease are not entirely understood.
