<h4>SUMMARY</h4> We demonstrate that exposure to the AB5 subtilase cytotoxin (SubAB) induces the unfolded protein response (UPR) in human peripheral blood mononuclear cells, concomitant with a pro-inflammatory response across distinct cell subsets.
