Acetylcholine receptors (AChRs) expressed at the nerve muscle junction (NMJ) synapses are hetero-pentameric ligand-gated ion channels with two neurotransmitter binding sites (TBS) at α-δ and α-ε (adult)/γ (fetal) subunit interfaces.
