GlnH is an amino acid binding protein that senses aspartate to regulate metabolism via the PknG pathway in diverse Actinobacteria. Information about ligand occupancy of periplasmic GlnH is conveyed to PknG via an uncharacterised transmembrane protein GlnX. This pathway is important in the virulence of Mycobacterium tuberculosis , and in regulating valuable industrial fermentations by Corynebacterium glutamicum ....
