<h4>Background</h4> Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) and genetically homologous golden retriever muscular dystrophy (GRMD) are X-linked conditions causing progressive muscle wasting and cardiomyopathy. We previously defined a DMD-like dilated cardiomyopathy in adult GRMD dogs.
