The rise of antimalarial drug-resistant Plasmodium falciparum poses a major threat to malaria treatment, control, and elimination efforts. Mutations in the kelch13 ( k13 ) gene confer artemisinin partial resistance (ART-R), compromising the efficacy of combination therapies.
