Mammalian circadian rhythms are driven by the transcriptional-translational feedback loop of clock genes in the hypothalamic suprachiasmatic nucleus. However, chronic methamphetamine treatment induces circadian activity rhythms in arrhythmic animals with suprachiasmatic nucleus lesions or clock gene deletions.
