In a study of FHIT gene abnormalities by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and sequence analysis of the PCR products, we found normal and abnormal PCR products in 11 osteosarcomas, one osteosarcoma cell line and 3 Ewing sarcomas, and a normal PCR product only in 5 osteosarcomas and 8 Ewing sarcomas.
