Poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) has been suggested to play a regulatory role in vivo, in DNA replication and/or DNA repair based mainly on its capacity to bind to DNA strand breaks. This interaction is modulated through auto poly(ADP-ribosylation).
