A patient with acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) with an activating N-RAS oncogene mutation was studied in a haemopoietic clonogenic progenitor cell assay. Individual colonies and clusters were analysed by polymerase chain reaction and oligonucleotide hybridization for the original mutation.
