Although insulin-like growth factor I (IGF-I) is a mitogenic growth factor, its role in tumorigenesis is unclear. We therefore transfected wild-type and truncated beta-subunit mutant (952STOP) human IGF-I receptor cDNAs into Rat-1 fibroblasts.
