Neuroblastoma cells differentiate in response to retinoic acid and cyclic AMP. We have examined the expression of retinoic acid receptors (RARs) in relation to neuroblastoma differentiation and show that short term exposure of SK N SH, SH SY 5Y AND GI LI N cells to physiological concentrations of retinoic acid results in induction of RAR-beta, particularly the lower transcript.
