Transgenic cereal plants expressing the beta-glucuronidase (uidA) and neomycin phosphotransferase (neo) genes were obtained via microprojectile bombardment of immature inflorescence tissue of tritordeum (the fertile Hordeum x Triticum amphiploid, HchHchAABB).
