In recent study we demonstrated expression of the platelet-derived growth factor alpha receptor (PDGFR alpha) in cells of the early oligodendrocyte lineage that were identified as either GD3 ganglioside + oligodendrocyte progenitors or O4 sulfatide+ preoligodendrocytes.
