BACKGROUND: Drug resistance phenomenon has become a serious problem in the lipid lowering drugs in the treatment of cardiac and dyslipidemic patients. Statins are the mainstay pharmacological treatment for dyslipidemia, metabolized by CYP3A4 gene.
