We describe a case of a newborn male with an erythematous friable nodule on a dorsolumbar giant congenital melanocytic nevus. Histopathology revealed a spindle cell neoplasm with a high mitotic index, negative for melanocytic markers, suggesting a mesenchymal tumor.
