Uridine residues present at the wobble position of eukaryotic cytosolic tRNAs often carry a 5-carbamoylmethyl (ncm5), 5-methoxycarbonylmethyl (mcm5), or 5-methoxycarbonylhydroxymethyl (mchm5) side-chain.
