OBJECTIVE: Molecular status of uterine leiomyomas has been shown to affect both tumor characteristics and treatment response. Mutations in mediator complex subunit 12 (MED12), the most prevalent alterations in leiomyomas, are associated with tumor size and number of leiomyomas.
