Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD) represents a highly heritable neurodegenerative disorder. Most of the heritability is caused by autosomal dominant mutations in the Microtubule-Associated Protein Tau (MAPT), Progranulin (GRN), and the pathologic exanucleotide expansion of C9ORF72 genes.
